Asana Lab - September 20

  • Are you looking to advance and deepen your yoga practice?
  •  Have you ever wondered why your teacher told you to move your body in a certain direction?
  • Have you thought about how your body works in yoga? Asana lab may be the answer for you!

This series is open to all newer yoga teachers, teacher trainees, and students who are interested in the anatomy of poses, why your body does what it does when moved a certain way, how to alleviate pain and stress in joints during your practice, your proper alignment of poses, and how to build poses.

Each week will focus on a different set of postures/anatomy, and will be part lecture, part moving, part discussion, and all fun!

Upcoming topics are:

9/20-Fundamentals and preparatory poses

9/27-Externally Rotated Standing Poses

10/4-Internally Rotated Standing Poses

10/11-Fundamentals of Vinyasa Flow Pt 1

10/18-Fundamentals of Vinyasa Flow Pt 2

10/25-Hip Openers

Texts referenced will be Ray Long’s Key Muscles of Yoga, and Keys Poses of Yoga if you’d like to delve deeper into the subject material.
