3.      What  is your favorite thing about teaching yoga?

Help people relax and point students towards a way to heal.

Claudia Ellermann has been practicing yoga for twenty years. She started her practice in Germany and has been studying in various studios in Hamburg, Houston, Boston and at the Kripalu Yoga Center in the Berkshires. Claudia completed her teacher training with Mick and Stephanie Goodman in Kansas City in 2005. Claudia teaches a traditional style of Hatha Yoga mixed with elements of Kripalu and Meridian Yoga.

Claudia includes various pranayama and meditation techniques in all her classes. As a teacher she would like to help you embark on the wonderful spiritual and physical journey of yoga. Whether you are interested in reducing stress in your life or in regaining flexibility and strength, whether you are trying to heal from an injury, or working on increasing your mindfulness, Claudia will help you tailor the class to meet your needs.

Claudia's teaching philosophy:

I carefully plan my classes so that each class has its own theme. Sequencing is very important to me to ensure that the class flows gracefully. The culmination of all effort is svasana, the final relaxation pose. My goal is to lead the student to this point where they can truly relax, where they have a feeling of spaciousness and peace.

Claudia Ellermann CYT 200 instructs the following:

Whether you are new to yoga or want a refresher, this class is for students who are interested in the basics of vinyasa flow. The poses are sequenced to focus on the flow of energy in the body and how it relates to proper alignment. Each pose builds upon the other allowing you to connect with your body, mind and spirit. This class is appropriate for prenatal students.
