“Give a yogi a scarf and they are warm for a season (until they lose it).

Teach a yogi how to knit, they can replace the scarf they lost and be warm for a lifetime”

Come Stitch and Stretch at KC Yoga Center with a basic knitting and yoga skills workshop.

Have you ever wanted to learn to knit?

OR... maybe you’ve put your needles down and need a refresher course to get started again.

Maybe you’re a yogi and a knitter and would like to come and knit with other yogis?

If the answer to any of these questions is a yes or maybe, join Jaime Mattivi for Stitch and Stretch.

What is Stitch and Stretch?

Four weeks of basic knitting skills, basic yogic breathing and basic yoga stretches helping to loosen stiff hands, stiff necks and stiff shoulders that oftentimes occur when sitting and working on your new knitting skills.

What will I learn?

You will learn the following three basic skills all knitters need to create, stitch, and finish a project:

  • cast on,

  • the knit stitch (garter stitch)

  • how to cast off.

Best Part??? By the end of the workshop YOU WILL HAVE A FINISHED SCARF to keep you warm through the winter!

AND you can make gifts for christmas!

You will be shocked and awed by how  easy it is and how good you feel doing it!

You will need a set of size 15 needles, and a couple balls of yarn!  For a few dollars more Jaime will have supplies ready for you. Workshop + MUST be paid in advance to ensure enough yarn and needles are available.

$79 for the Stitch and Stretch series

Stitch and Stretch Workshop Options

 Restorative Yoga At the City Market

Restorative Yoga At the City Market

Are you tired and stressed out?
Are you working with an autoimmune issue?
Are you anxious?
Do you feel like you have NO time?

If so, please do yourself a favor and take a Restorative Yoga Class.  You will want to take two.  It has a cumulative effect and builds on itself over time.

Restorative Yoga poses are designed to activate the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) otherwise known as your "Rest and Destress" System.  It works with the "Fight or Flight" system, reminding us to relax and calm.

According to Judith Lasater who has devoted her life to teaching Restorative Yoga, "We work very hard in our lives, and while we may sleep, we rarely take time to rest.
Benefits of Restorative Yoga poses:
   * reduction of blood pressure.
   * improvement of immune function.
   * improvement in digestion.
   * improvement in fertility.
   *  improvement with elimination.
   * reduction of muscle tension.
   * reduction of generalized fatigue.
   *  during deep relaxation, all the organ systems of the body are benefited.
   *  helps us learn to relax and rest deeply and completely.

 Please remember, this practice is the most advanced class we have...It requires you to stop doing, doing, doing and allow, allow, allow yourself to simply be.
